Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the Hardware Security team in Austin, TX. You will build security-focused software protecting AWS hardware, supply chain, and global infrastructure, leading multi-agent software development and mentoring peers.

Responsibilities include creating tooling for firmware analysis, security testing, and vulnerability assessment, designing scalable security applications, and collaborating to drive secure solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Hardware Security team. You will build and own security-focused software solutions that protect AWS's hardware, supply chain and global infrastructure while working in an environment where technology strategy is defined but solution design requires your expertise. This role requires software development leadership and strong coding skills, including but not limited to multi-agent software development.

Key job responsibilities

• Create and maintain tools for firmware analysis, security testing, and vulnerability assessment
• Design and develop security applications to protect AWS hardware and firmware
• Architect scalable, automated, tools for security assessment and compliance
• Collaborate with and mentor team members while making autonomous technical decisions

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
