Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Software Engineer for antenna calibration to collaborate with architects, hardware design, and FW/SW teams to bring up and test systems blending FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions. The role includes developing tools for phased array systems, automating hardware tests, and building applications.

The team focuses on complex data storage, design automation, and robust bring-up processes across multi-disciplinary engineering efforts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 1+ years designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered software applications.
  • 1+ years of OO design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
  • Experience in at least one programming language.

Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. As a Software Engineer for antenna calibration, you will collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW design teams to bring up and test systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions and build advanced tools for the following:

  • Characterizing subsystems and systems related to antennas
  • Complex data storage
  • Hardware test automation
  • Firmware design and implementation
  • Application development
  • Design automation for 2D and 3D structures
  • Develop bring up tools and scripts for phased array systems
Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
