Job description

Software Controls Engineer- Design (REMOTE and On-Site)

We are looking to hire a skilled Controls Engineer with E-PLAN and AutoCAD experience! You will be working remotely to design and analyze system requirements, write PLC code with Allen Bradley, test system efficiency, and provide operational support as needed.

To ensure success as a Controls Engineer, you should have excellent knowledge of machine mechanics, a logical approach, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Software Designer Responsibilities:

  1. Meeting with clients and teammates virtually to discuss their mechanical or electrical process requirements.
  2. Experience working remotely is an asset.
  3. At least 3 years’ experience in Hardware/Software Design/Offline PLC.
  4. PLC design on multiple projects.
  5. E-PLAN experience is an asset.
  6. Commissioning on-site experience is an asset.
  7. AutoCAD electrical experience.
  8. Hardware and software design on GM, FCA, Ford, tier 1 is an asset.
  9. MUST have commissioning experience and field experience.
  10. Following customer specifications and standards closely.
  11. Creation of Bill of Materials.
  12. Providing clients with technical support.
  13. Self-starter, organized, great communicator.
  14. Knowledge of software and hardware design principles.
  15. Ability to work independently with the possibility of 50% travel.
  16. Overseeing the successful electrical installation.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Senior Lead Controls/Design Engineer: 8+ years
  • Intermediate Controls/Design Engineer: 3+ years
  • AutoCAD Electrical Design Experience Required
  • Thorough knowledge of PLC, HMI, and robotic integration utilizing Siemens/Allen Bradley controls hardware/software.
  • Commissioning of motion devices such as Servo, VFD, Soft Starters.
  • Extensive commissioning experience.
  • Stellantis, Tesla, Rivian, Ford, Tier 1, GM GCCS2, GCCH1 certification is an asset.
  • Safety commissioning.
  • Position requires travel to customer's locations.
