The position of the Software Automation Engineer II requires a minimum of a BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent curriculum and courses. The candidate should demonstrate more than 2 years of applied academic or professional programming experience in areas such as Visual Studio, C#, C++, event-driven programming, SQL, data sources, and data sharing.
The software engineer works with a team of automation and process engineers to develop process control concepts, support/modify software interfaced with hardware on existing machinery, or design new program-controlled processes to meet manufacturing requirements. Basic electronics knowledge and familiarity with industrial protocols and interface techniques are required.
Software development experience should include various programming languages to address objectives related to automated process control, test/measurement, and data sharing. Programs are created to integrate construction and testing process details with interfaced test equipment, data collection systems, control points, machine vision, motion, data, and other peripherals.
