Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in San Jose, CA, seeks a visionary technical leader to architect high-performance system solutions for complex semiconductor challenges. You will mentor multidisciplinary teams and translate customer requirements into scalable architectures that drive business impact.

You will collaborate with product, R&D, and customer teams, oversee full solution lifecycles, perform due diligence, and present architectures to executives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of architecture and engineering leadership in semiconductor/EDA or related high-tech industries.
  • Expert in system architecture, SoC design, and IP integration.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware/software co-design, cloud-enabled workflows, and advanced process technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage large cross-functional programs.
  • Proficiency with Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, UVM, RTL design, simulation, emulation, and cloud orchestration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of high-performance solutions supporting NXP’s technologies.
  • Collaborate with product management, R&D, and customer teams to define requirements and roadmaps.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable, modular system architectures and actionable plans.
  • Mentor cross-functional engineering teams through the full solution lifecycle.
  • Drive technical due diligence and feasibility studies for new initiatives and engagements.
  • Present solution architectures to executives, customers, and partners.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks ensuring quality, reliability, and security.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends to inform technology strategy.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Leading the architecture and design of innovative, high-performance solutions supporting NXP’s advanced technologies and products.
  • Collaborating with product management, R&D, and customer-facing teams to define and refine solution requirements and roadmaps.
  • Translating complex customer requirements into scalable, modular system architectures and actionable engineering plans.
  • Guiding and mentoring cross-functional engineering teams through the full solution lifecycle—from concept through deployment and support.
  • Driving technical due diligence and feasibility studies for new technology initiatives and strategic customer engagements.
  • Presenting solution architectures to executive stakeholders, customers, and partners, articulating technical value and business impact.
  • Identifying and mitigating architectural risks, ensuring solutions meet stringent quality, reliability, and security standards.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform NXP’s technology strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related track
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) architecting and engineering complex solutions in semiconductor, EDA, or related high-tech industries.
  • Expert-level proficiency in system architecture, SoC design, verification methodologies, and IP integration.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware/software co-design, cloud-enabled workflows, and advanced process technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools and platforms (e.g., Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, UVM, RTL design, simulation, emulation, cloud orchestration).

Familiarity with AI/ML, security, and data analytics as applied to electronic design automation is a plus.
