Job summary

System One seeks a Software Architect in San Diego, CA for a contract engagement. You will lead a software development team of 20+ while collaborating with senior staff to design, prototype, and document architectures aligned with customer priorities.

You will guide MBSE–driven processes, ensure production-grade deployments, and contribute to documentation and integration efforts. A Secret clearance is required, with potential future eligibility for TS/SCI, and the role supports a 9/80 schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a senior software engineer performing full stack development.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams, conducting code reviews, and managing complex projects.
• Track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining production systems.
• Experience incorporating AI within the Software Development Lifecycle to boost team productivity.
• Mastery of varied architecture styles and Model Based Engineering, with leadership in transitioning processes into a digital engineering environment.
• Solid understanding of UML and SysML modeling languages.
• Ability to define and maintain implementation schedules for performance and results.
• Ability to work with project management teams, reporting on progress, schedules, and risks.
• Self-starter with leadership capabilities, ready to step into ongoing activities.
• Must possess an active Secret clearance, with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI in the future.
• Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo/NoMagic and database management software.
• Past experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) (preferred).

• Develop and guide the creation of administrator and user documentation, including manuals, installation guides, and data sheets.
• Assist with system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment efforts.
• Support a flexible 9/80 work schedule, including 9-hour days and alternating Fridays off.

Job Title: Software Architect Location: San Diego, CA Type: Contract Compensation: $51.17/hour Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance to be considered and would be eligible to obtain up to a TS/SCI clearance in the future.
