Purpose: Architect how OneSubsea specifies, consumes, and applies data and AI capability built on SLB's enterprise platform, translating business needs across the value streams into well-defined data products and the solutions built on them. This is the senior technical anchor of the OSS Beacon AI programme.
Key Responsibilities (high Level)
- Define and specify the AI/ML solution architecture for large organizations.
- Define and specify the data products OSS requires from SLB Enterprise AI, so they can be built once and consumed reliably.
- Technical interface and working relationship with the SLB Enterprise AI platform team.
- Design the consumption architecture on the OSS side — how delivered data feeds AI characters, agents, and analytics across the value streams.
- Provide technical leadership to a small team of data engineers and junior architects.
- Serve as technical owner of the OSS AI Characters/Persona working within SLB security and governance.
- Translate between business/operational needs and technical feasibility — the bridge between the digital leads' demand and what actually gets built.
Experience Profile (what To Screen For)
- Senior data architecture experience, ideally within a federated / data-mesh or Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataplex) environment — someone who has worked as a consuming domain on a central platform, not just built standalone systems.
- Track record specifying data products and getting a central/platform team to deliver against them.
- Track record of AI/ML solution architecture and, ideally, agent or API integration.
- Strong stakeholder skills — this role is as much diplomacy with the platform team as it is technical design.
- Energy sector / industrial data experience is a plus, not essential.
