Job summary

SoTalent is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect in Houston to define architecture principles, roadmaps, and patterns for scalable cloud-native platforms. You will drive cross-team alignment and ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and maintainability goals.

You will lead reviews, guide AI/ML integration, and drive modernization efforts toward AWS, while aligning technology with business objectives and international considerations.

Responsibilities

• Establish architectural principles, frameworks, and engineering practices across domains.
• Define multi-year roadmaps for cloud-based platforms and distributed apps.
• Review major initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
• Establish patterns for consistency, scalability, security, maintainability, reuse.
• Guide transformation of legacy apps toward modern architectures and dev approaches.
• Assess new tech, including AI/ML, for business/engineering value.
• Develop reference architectures and reusable components for teams.
• Hands-on work on tough architectural problems, PoCs, and production issues.
• Provide technical direction on large distributed apps and integrations.
• Design systems to support geographically distributed operations and multi-entity orgs.
• Develop integration approaches for services, data platforms, and external systems.
• Guide large-scale moves from data centers to AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Promote microservices, API, messaging, and distributed-system patterns across teams.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools into the software lifecycle to improve delivery speed and quality.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Architecture & Technology Strategy

• Establish architectural principles, frameworks, and engineering practices that can be applied consistently across business and technology domains.
• Define technology strategies and multi-year roadmaps for modern cloud-based and distributed application platforms.
• Review major technology initiatives and ensure proposed solutions fit broader enterprise architecture and business objectives.
• Establish patterns that promote consistency, scalability, security, maintainability, and reuse.
• Guide the transformation of older enterprise applications toward contemporary architectures and development approaches.
• Assess new technologies and determine where emerging capabilities, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, can provide meaningful business or engineering value.
• Develop reference architectures and reusable technical components that can be adopted across engineering teams.
• Take a hands-on role in solving difficult architectural and engineering problems, including designing proofs of concept and investigating complex production issues.
• Provide technical direction on large, distributed applications and integrations.
• Design systems capable of supporting geographically distributed operations and multiple international business entities.
• Develop integration approaches for services, applications, data platforms, and external systems.
• Guide large-scale transitions from traditional data-center environments to AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
• Help engineering teams adopt effective microservices, API, messaging, and distributed-system patterns.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools and techniques into appropriate stages of the software lifecycle to improve delivery speed, engineering quality, and developer
