Job Description

This position is primarily involved in work in the computer field performing data analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, or modification of reporting systems or programs. The technologies primarily used include SQL Server Reporting Studio (SSRS) and Power Business Intelligence (PBI) The position exercises discretion and judgment and is a mixture of technical and business-oriented.

Scope
The Specialist I has a depth of knowledge within designated Information Technology (IT) area of responsibility that is applied to diverse assignments. This position may collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants, and company management in order to drive results. This role supports IT projects. This position may guide and share knowledge with other IT staff.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain critical planning, monitoring, and reporting processes as well as required documentation, for the timely coordination and completion of report-building tasks.
• Work closely with team members and stakeholders to understand report requirements and contribute to the alignment of software solutions with organizational goals.
• Analyze requests after intake to ensure requirement gathering is completed with the requestor.
• Develop (or assist in developing) SQL Server Reports or Power Business Intelligence dashboards.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach, addressing user needs and ensuring report and dashboard solutions meet end-user requirements.
• Contribute to the development and coding of enterprise-level reporting systems.
• Participate with cross-functional team members in issue identification, process impacts, and solution development discussions to optimize end-to-end solutions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and tools relevant to report and dashboard development.
• Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on project progress, escalating complex problems to higher-level specialists and seeking guidance when needed.
• Maintain documentation related to software development, including coding standards, procedures, and user manuals.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in software development.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance software applications.
• Participate in training programs and collaborative knowledge-sharing activities within the team to enhance individual and collective expertise.
• Promote, encourage and model Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) principles across employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulations, such as data privacy and cybersecurity standards.

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and three (3) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to seven (7) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

• Significant experience with developing and administering SSRS reports and/or PBI dashboards.
• Experience in a SQL database environment.
• Expertise in an enterprise Microsoft Windows domain architecture.
• Knowledge of security management in Microsoft Active Directory.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Salary Range

84,000 to 146,000

Market Rate

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
