Job summary

PCI Energy Solutions in Norman, OK is seeking a Software Analyst - Associate to help design, implement, and support software that powers energy and utility operations. Qualifications

  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document user requirements with stakeholders.
  • Analyze software requirements and draft functional specs and design docs.
  • Analyze data to support design decisions and improve performance.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshoot software issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for software systems.
  • Collaborate with team to communicate technical information and project updates.
  • Support project managers with planning and deadlines.
  • Suggest process improvements to improve development efficiency.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic team environment.
  • Assist in coding and scripting under senior guidance.
  • Provide application support and consulting to clients on PCI products.
  • Improve software quality and features with the development team.
  • Perform testing, documentation, and QA for new features.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Software Analyst - Associate

A Software Analyst plays a crucial role in the development and enhancement of software systems, ensuring they meet the needs of end-users and business objectives. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication to bridge the gap between software developers and end-users.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in gathering and documenting user requirements through collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of software needs.
  • Participate in the analysis of software requirements and contribute to the creation of detailed documentation, including functional specifications and system design documents.
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting data to support software design decisions and improve system performance.
  • Provide support to end-users, helping to troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist in maintaining comprehensive documentation for software systems, keeping it up-to-date with changes and improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members to effectively communicate technical information and project updates.
  • Support project managers in various tasks, including project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements, striving to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
  • Assist in coding and scripting tasks under the guidance of senior team members, contributing to the development process.
  • Provide application support and consulting to internal and external clients on the proper use of PCI products.
  • Improve the quality and enhance the features of PCI software products by working with application development team.
  • Perform testing, documentation, and quality assurance for new product features.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in computer science or a degree in a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in computer science.
  • Basic knowledge of programming & scripting.
  • Knowledge of Java, Python, SQL and AWS.
  • Individual task-and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
