Job summary

KBR, Inc in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Mid-Level Software Acquisitions Engineer with 9–12 years of experience to support the software acquisitions lifecycle for national security programs. You will work on-site with the SETA team to ensure compliant, timely program deliverables for space defense and intelligence projects.

This role requires TS/SCI with Poly, a STEM degree, and strong communication skills to coordinate with government customers and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • 9+ years of relative software acquisitions experience (or 7+ with MS).
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and engage customers independently.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, small team environments.

Responsibilities

  • Study and analyze problems in the Space domain.
  • Identify Agile solutions and program epics with acceptance criteria.
  • Optimize pre-increment planning and iterative integration demos.
  • Assess developer performance and oversee testing for objectives.
  • Review contractor submissions for technical accuracy and provide analysis.
  • Write Statements of Work for upcoming systems acquisitions.
  • Advise on contractor performance to COTR.”

In this role, you will leverage your expertise to support physics-based modeling and simulation efforts (including tools development) for satellite system resiliency.
