Job summary

Christy Sports in Avon, Colorado is seeking a Softgoods Supervisor to lead the department staff, manage inventory, and drive sales with commission opportunities and a free ski pass. The role requires a friendly, outdoor-loving team member who can mentor staff and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, building rapport, closing sales, and merchandising, with a focus on knowledge-sharing and maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced outdoor retail

Qualifications

• Be friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people.
• Love to ski or snowboard with some knowledge of how it all works.
• Have basic computer skills.
• English fluency, written and verbal.

Summary Description: Reporting to the Store Manager, this position is responsible for the management of the Softgoods sales staff and department inventory control.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers in the store
• Develop a rapport with the customers through conversation to understand their needs

• Bring the sale to a successful close
• Expand the sale by demonstrating knowledge of accessory and/or related products or warranty agreements as appropriate for the needs of the customer
• Operate the cash register to complete the sale
• Merchandise the store by stocking shelves, counters, or tables with products
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Be Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people
• Love to ski or snowboard and some knowledge of how it all works
• Have basic computer skills
• English fluency, written and verbal
• Need to be flexible in your schedule to get the most out of ski time, including working split shifts, nights, holidays and weekends
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift 25 pounds
