Role Description

The Softball Instructor will provide individual and group instruction in softball skills, including hitting, fielding, pitching, and game strategy, with a focus on age-appropriate training. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and leading lessons, evaluating player performance, offering constructive feedback, and ensuring a safe, positive training environment. The role also involves communicating with athletes and families about progress, schedules, and training goals, and supporting camps and clinics as needed. This is a contract, on-site role based at Tuckahoe Sports Inc in Henrico, VA, requiring flexible availability for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong Instruction and coaching skills, with the ability to teach fundamental and advanced softball techniques with a focus on pitching from beginner through advanced.
• Softball and Baseball knowledge, including rules, gameplay, and training methods relevant to youth and competitive athletes.
• Effective Communication skills for working with athletes, families, and staff in a clear and respectful manner.
• Customer Service orientation, with a focus on creating a welcoming, professional experience for all participants.
• Previous experience as a player or coach at the high school, collegiate, or club level is preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate skills safely and maintain a clean, organized training environment.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site in Henrico, VA, including evenings and weekends.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it is a plus.
