Job summary

The Virginia Tech Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach for the softball program. Under the Head Coach, you will support all aspects of the team, with a focus on pitching instruction, player development, game strategy, and recruitment.

The position is part-time with no benefits, non-exempt overtime eligible, approximately 29 hours per week, and requires a willingness to travel for recruiting and tournaments; a criminal conviction check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level.
• Proven track record of developing players who excel in college softball.
• Knowledge of biomechanics, pitch mechanics, catching mechanics, and data analytics.
• Acceptable driving record and willingness to travel for recruiting and tournaments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Assist with all aspects of the softball program, including pitching.
• Provide daily instruction and contribute to game strategy.
