Job summary

Virginia Tech's Department of Athletics seeks an Assistant Coach to support pitching, game strategy, and player development under the Head Coach. Responsibilities include daily instruction, recruiting, and building strong relationships with student-athletes, with emphasis on biomechanics, analytics, and coaching excellence.

This is a part-time wage position (no benefits) with a 29-hour work week, pay band 3, and travel for recruiting.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at NCAA Division I level.
• Proven track record of developing players who excel in college softball.
• Working knowledge of biomechanics, pitch mechanics, catching mechanics, and data analytics.
• Acceptable driving record and willingness to travel for recruiting and tournaments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the program including pitching.
• Provide daily instruction and game strategy support.
• Engage in recruiting and player development efforts.
• Build strong relationships with student-athletes.
