Job summary

US Tech Solutions in Exton, PA invites a Soft Goods Designer to conceptualize and develop new products that improve customers’ lives. You’ll lead design work across form, aesthetics, and user interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to craft next-gen products.

Based in Exton, you will work with our US Design Team and partner with Marketing, R&D and Supply Chain to ensure brand and product guidelines are met.

Qualifications

• Pattern Development: basic awareness of flat pattern and draping.
• Human Factors: basic ergonomic principles related to Soft Goods Design.
• Materials & Construction Techniques: selecting fabrics and fillers; production-ready concepts.
• Design for Manufacture: familiarity with manufacturing phases and problem solving.
• Development Models: ability to sew prototypes with high accuracy.
• Design Fundamentals: rapid ideation, form development, drawing, material knowledge.
• Visual Communication: understanding visual composition and presentations.
• Digital Design 2D/3D: use of vector, raster and presentation software.
• Three years+ of Soft Goods/Fashion experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or related field.
• Ability to travel at least once per quarter.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Team collaboration ability.

Responsibilities

• As Soft Goods Designer you will work with teams located in Newell Brands’ facility in Exton, PA. Taking direction from the Soft Goods Design Manager, you will create and develop designs for new products and provide support for updating existing products when required.
• You will take responsibility for managing your own workload to ensure deadlines are quality standards are met. You will collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain teams from our global offices.
