Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology with 3 graduate credit hours in Sociological theory.
• Alternative: Master’s degree in any field with 18 graduate credit hours including Sociological theory.

Responsibilities

• Select and develop instructional materials; plan instruction to enhance student learning; create assignments to foster higher order thinking.
• Use a variety of engagement and assessment methods to facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes.
• Provide students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback.
• Evaluate student learning and modify instructional methods to meet diverse needs.
• Meet classes as scheduled and notify division chair if absent with notice.
• Monitor email and electronic communication; respond promptly to students.
• Prepare and distribute syllabi per procedures; follow published final exam schedule.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ academic standing; report final grades and attendance.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records; comply with college policies and training.
• Exercise stewardship in using college facilities and materials; implement assessment activities and report data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
