Job summary

Cal Poly Humboldt is seeking Graduate Assistant pool positions in the Department of Sociology for Academic Year 2026/2027. GAs provide non-teaching support to faculty, may supervise students, assist in research, and help prepare course materials.

Positions are part-time (up to 0.15 time base, about 6 hours/week) with duties including labs, SPSS support, and rubrics-based student evaluation. Appointments vary by term and department needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sociology or related field.
• Graduate student status required at Humboldt.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist faculty with course materials and research.
• Lead labs or workshops as assigned and supervise students.
• Assist with grading using rubrics provided by faculty.
• Provide tutoring and targeted lab support for SPSS and related learning activities.
• Meet weekly with supervising faculty to discuss course progress and student needs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree equivalent and CSU graduate enrollment
