Qualifications

• Doctorate in sociology from an accredited university by the start of the appointment.
• Demonstrated commitment to social scientific scholarship in areas such as health and health technology, human/technology interaction, and STS.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and willingness to teach core sociology topics.
• Research potential demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and developing undergraduate courses in specialty areas and core sociology courses.
• Participating in General Education and program assessment.
• Maintaining an active research agenda.
• Mentoring and advising students.
• Participating in shared governance and service assignments.
• Organizing classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Demonstrating inclusive teaching practices for a diverse student body.
