Job summary

Austin Peay State University’s Department of Sociology invites qualified applicants to join our Adjunct Instructor Pool to fill part-time, temporary teaching positions on an as-needed basis for upcoming semesters.

Adjunct instructors will teach undergraduate sociology courses—Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Race and Ethnicity, Gender and Society, and Sociology of the Family—with courses offered in person, online, or in hybrid formats.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college level; strong communication and organizational skills.
• A background check will be required of the successful applicant.

• Prepare and deliver course content in alignment with department standards
• Evaluate and grade student work in a timely manner
