Job summary

Caretenders, part of the Optum family, seeks a Social Worker - Per Diem in Kentucky to provide medical social services under a physician and care team. You will help patients and families understand social and emotional factors impacting health and coping.

Pay ranges from $28.75 to $43.10 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package. A Master’s in Social Work and state licensure are required, with CPR preferred and a valid driver's license or reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
• Current Driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• State Social Worker licensure as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical social services under physician direction and interdisciplinary group to address social and emotional factors affecting health.
• Assist patients and families in coping with health status and related challenges.
• Contribute to a supportive care environment and participate in development of care plans.

As the Social Worker - Per Diem, provides medical social services under the direction of a physician and Interdisciplinary Group to assist in the understanding of significant social and emotional factors related to the patient's health status and in development of coping mechanisms.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work
• Current Driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation

Additional State Specific Requirement:

• AL, AR, CA, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MS, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OR, SC, TX, WI,WV: Licensed as a Social Worker from the State Board of Social Work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• Licensed Social Worker in the state of residence
• 1+ years of social work experience in a health care setting
