Job description

We are hiring for Social Worker MSW position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 hours per week.

• $10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

The Social Worker MSW provides services to patients/residents and their families/caregivers to meet their social and emotional needs as they relate to their medical diagnoses and concerns. They collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive treatment, recovery, and safe and coordinated transition from one care environment to another. They work to protect and advocate for the rights of patients/residents and ensures that they receive highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each patient. The Social Worker MSW works under the direction of Care Management Leadership and is employed by Providence Health & Services. The position will practice in accordance with competencies and guidelines outlined in Standards for Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings and the Code of Ethics as defined by the National Association of Social Workers. Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree:Degree as Social Worker from an accredited School of Social Work.
• Upon hire: Alaska Masters Social Worker License or
• Upon hire: Alaska Clinical Social Worker License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 yearsMedical Social Work experience.
• Experience with computerized documentation and medical records is preferred at the time of hire.
