At the Riverside Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) in Indio, we provide intensive mental health and psychiatric treatment services in a safe, welcoming environment for adults experiencing a mental health emergency. We believe recovery starts from within, and our job is to provide the support needed on your recovery journey in a comfortable, structured environment. Our secure 16-bed facility has a multidisciplinary team including a psychiatrist, social workers, a rehabilitation therapist, registered nurses, recovery specialists, and peer support specialists.

Shifts Available:
  • On Call; Shifts Hours and Days vary as needed
Compensation:

Expected starting wage range is $33.00 - $38.70. We pay differentials: weekend shift differentials for hourly staff (5% for Weekend AM, 11% for Weekend PM, 15% for Weekend Overnight). Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges based on the location of the role. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Position Summary

Under supervision of a licensed clinician, the Social Work Clinician II provides clinical and casework services to members and their natural supports. This involves person-centered recovery planning and collaboration with other services and agencies.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates Telecare's mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in interactions with stakeholders
  • Provides safe, effective, and efficient direct care following policies and standards
  • Collaborates with members and multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate Recovery Plans
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with members
  • Coordinates ongoing treatment and links to community services
  • Provides individual and group therapy
  • Documents all treatment thoroughly and consistently
  • Participates in discharge planning and community linkage
  • Engages in multidisciplinary team meetings and recovery planning
  • Demonstrates de-escalation and crisis management skills
  • Serves as a clinical consultant to team members
  • Assists with restraint in case of assaultive behavior, with required training
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, working towards licensure, registered with the Board of Behavioral Science
  • One year of direct service experience with individuals with severe mental illness
  • Criminal justice clearance and education verification
  • At least 18 years old
  • CPR, CPI, and First Aid certifications at or within 60 days of employment, maintained throughout
  • Successful completion of physical exam, TB test, background checks, and other regulatory requirements

Preferred: Previous experience with the target population or similar settings

  • Sufficient medical knowledge for needs assessment
  • Skills in conducting group therapy

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, reaching, twisting, grasping, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions.
