Job summary

Soliant is seeking a qualified school-based professional to support students in crisis in a contract role in Connecticut. You will work closely with students, faculty, and families to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.

You will collaborate with educators and families, conduct risk assessments, provide counseling, and help develop individualized interventions to improve student well-being and academic success. This position emphasizes proactive intervention and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure or certification as a School Social Worker or School Psychologist.
• Proven experience in school-based settings.
• Demonstrated ability to provide crisis intervention and manage urgent student situations.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to interact effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a calm and compassionate approach.
• Experience developing and implementing behavioral or intervention plans is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral crises.
• Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with school personnel to create safety plans.
• Offer counseling, facilitate support groups, and connect students with appropriate resources.
• Serve as a critical liaison between students, families, and outside agencies as needed.
• Participate in student support meetings and help design individualized interventions.
• Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere throughout the school community.
• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in adherence to school policies.
