LOCATION OF POSITION: Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health, Adolescent and Family, 122 N. Langley Road, Suite A, Glen Burnie, MD 21060

Main Purpose of Job: The main purpose of this position is to provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and youth ages 4 to 18 and their families through the OMHC, to promote recovery and resilience within a culturally competent and trauma-informed milieu.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

Experience: None

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The desired candidate should possess:

1. Experience providing play therapy.
2. Experience delivering trauma-informed mental health care.
3. Experience and knowledge of mental health services for youth and families.
4. Experience working in an outpatient or inpatient setting with adolescent children and families.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

1. Candidates must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker (on or by June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker (on or after July 1, 2018), or Certified Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health Testing Unit.
2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
