Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Social Worker to join our behavioral health team. You will provide emotional support, counseling, information and referral services, and help with discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and current intern registration with the state board; at least one year of inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required.
• Current registration as an intern with a Board, as appropriate to education and licensing requirements.
• Minimum one year of inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, counseling, and information and referral services.
• Assist with financial assistance and supportive services for patients and families.
• Conduct case and milieu management, complete psychosocial assessments, and develop and re‑evaluate treatment plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain clinical records and complete necessary documentation for each client during their stay.

Pay Transparency

Saint Michael's Medical Center offers competitive compensation. The current compensation range for this role is $27.76 to $32.16 per hour. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreements and/or employment status.
