Job description

The Social Worker I, under close supervision, provides professional social work services to clients in a variety of settings. This is a beginning level social work position providing conventional services to customers in the Child Day Care Subsidy Program. Within this position the Social Worker will work clients to identify needs for more intensive casework services and provides referrals.

This position is subject to reallocation contingent upon funding, agency needs and County needs.

• Provides basic casework servicesby providingclients needed and useful information as it relates to their case, answering factual questions, giving explanations and interpretations of agency policies and procedures that concern the clients or caregivers, makes referrals for other services.
• Conducts interviews with clients, relatives and other contacts to obtain information to establish eligibility for child day care subsidy.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree within a human services field or; a bachelor's degree and one year of directly related experience in areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Computer Skills:

Prior experience with Microsoft Windows, Proficient in typing accurately and fast paced.

License/Credentials:

Valid NC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

A copy of a certified college transcript and a letter of reference must be provided upon request.
