Job summary

Dierksen Hospice is seeking a dedicated Licensed Medical Social Worker (MSW) to deliver compassionate social work services to hospice patients and families. The LMSW will provide counseling, assess psychosocial needs, and support emotional well-being in a per diem schedule across Craighead, Greene, Jackson and Poinsett counties.

Qualifications include state licensure as a Social Worker, a Bachelor of Social Work, and preferred Master of Social Work.

Qualifications

• Education: MSW strongly preferred; MSW must be supervised by MSW program.
• License: Licensed Social Worker in state; valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assess psychosocial status and communicate with RN Case Manager and care team.
• Evaluate patient home situations, resources, and community support.
• Develop and implement social work plans; collaborate with Bereavement Coordinator.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings; contribute to care plans and address psychosocial stresses.
• Provide empathetic counseling to patients and families.

As a Licensed Medical Social Worker (MSW) with us, your primary responsibility will be delivering exceptional social work services to our hospice patients and their families. Responsibilities

• Be a Supportive Guide: Assess and communicate psychosocial status to the RN Case Manager and interdisciplinary group.
• Connect Hearts and Homes: Evaluate medical needs, home situations, financial resources, and community support.
• Provide Individualized Care Advocacy: Implement personalized social work plans and collaborate with your Bereavement Coordinator.
• Be part of a United Team Effort: Shape care plans, attend interdisciplinary meetings, and address psychosocial stresses.
• Provide Counseling with Compassion: Provide empathetic counseling to patients and families.

Qualifications

Education

• Strongly Preferred: Master of Social Work from an accredited school of social work
• Required: Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited school of social work (must be supervised by MSW)

License Requirements

• Required: Licensed as a Social Worker from the State Board of Social Work
• Required: Current Driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle

Experience

• Preferred: Minimum one (1) year experience as a social worker in a hospice setting
• Required: Minimum one (1) year experience as a social worker in a healthcare setting; long term care or medical surgical/acute care setting preferred

Additional State-Specific Requirements:

AR: Current unencumberedlicense as a Social Worker from the State Board of Social Work

$28.50 - $31.50 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
