Metropolitan Behavioral Health, a UHS facility, is hiring a Social Worker for full-time placement in a 144-bed behavioral health hospital. The role focuses on bio-psychosocial assessments and therapeutic support to adolescents, adults, and older adults within a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient program.

The Social Worker will provide crisis intervention, short- and long-term family therapy, and referrals as needed, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• MSW required for social work role.
• Licensure as LMSW or LLMSW preferred/required depending on experience.
• 1–3 years psychiatric health care facility experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Position Summary

The Social Worker performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

Education: MSW only

License: LMSW or will considered the experienced LLMSW

Experience: Requires at least 1 to 3 years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Combination of education, licensure and experience and/ or student internship hours may be considered.

This full-time position will be part of the weekend and holiday coverage.
