Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains, NY invites a licensed social worker to join the Eating Disorders Track on a part-time basis. You will provide individual and group psychotherapy and discharge planning for adults, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and incorporating the latest advances in eating disorder care.

This role requires LMSW/LCSW with 3–5 years of psychiatric treatment experience, plus experience or training in eating disorders (CBT-E/CBT-AR/FBT).

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience treating psychiatric patients.
• Experience with eating disorders preferred or a strong commitment to this population.
• Training in evidence-based treatments for eating disorders (e.g., CBT-E, CBT-AR, FBT).
• Competence in individual, family and group modalities for outpatient care.
• Fieldwork or prior psychiatric experience using evidence-based treatments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group psychotherapy and discharge planning for adults in the eating disorders track.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and stay current with research in eating disorders.
• Participate in weekly expert supervision and utilize EMR for documentation.

Social Worker - Eating Disorders Track - Part-Time

As a Social Worker in the eating disorders track, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide individual and group psychotherapy and discharge planning toadultpatients.Here the patient’sbenefit from the latest clinical research findings and advances in the treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and related disorders. We understand that eating disorders are serious illnesses, and we also believe that recovery is possible.Experience a place where your discipline is immensely respected.As part of your role you will receive weekly expert supervision.

Shift details: In person 4 days a week. Approximately 4.5 hours a shift.

Preferred Criteria

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

3 to 5 years of experience in the treatment ofpsychiatric patients

Experience with eating disorders or commitment to working with this population

Training inevidence-based treatments for eating disorders (e.g., CBT-E, CBT-AR, FBT)

Competency in individual, family and group treatment modalities and treatment techniques appropriate tooutpatient treatment setting

Required Criteria

Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)

At least 3 years of experience in the treatment ofpsychiatric patients

Limited Permit (must supply exam date prior to start of employment)

Fieldwork or previous experience in a psychiatric setting usingevidence-based treatments.

Knowledge base of bio-psychosocial model, DSM-V diagnoses, criteria for treatment of different diagnoses, behavioral risk factors and of the impact of mental illness upon individual and family functioning

Knowledge base of community and discharge planning resources and processes

Experience using an electronic medical record
