We are hiring a full-time Social Worker/Counselor to join our Adoption Support and Preservation Team.

SALARY: The starting salary ranges from $58,000 to $68,000 annually, based on skill and experience.

$3,500 Sign-on Bonus for first-time employees with MFS! ($1,000 paid on or around the 2nd paycheck, $1,250 after six months, and $1,250 after one year).

Locations:

• Calumet: 235 East 103rd Street, Chicago, IL 60628
• DuPage: 222 East Willow Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187 (serving DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will, Grundy, Kankakee, Lake/McHenry counties)
• Midway: 3843 W 63rd St, Chicago, IL 60629

Essential Job Functions

• Perform comprehensive assessments and intake for program services.
• Provide case management, counseling, advocacy, educational, and related services.
• Utilize agency and community resources effectively.
• Assess community conditions affecting clients and identify resource gaps.
• Recommend financial assistance when appropriate.
• Provide group services as needed.
• Meet contractual requirements such as 24-hour coverage.
• Represent the agency in community settings.
• Serve on regional or agency-wide committees if required.
• Meet agency standards for direct service quantity and recordkeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work effectively with diverse staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) within 6 months.
• Strong clinical skills, knowledge of family systems, child and adolescent mental health, and adoption issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mobility to serve a community-based caseload, including travel and evening hours.
• Access to a vehicle, proof of insurance, and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Physical Demands

• Sit and stand for extended periods, communicate effectively, use hands and fingers, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
