Job summary

Contra Costa County is seeking talented and qualified individuals to fill seventeen Social Worker vacancies in the Employment and Human Services Department. The department supports community health and self-sufficiency with a focus on equity and strong client service.

Responsibilities include needs assessments, safe case management, home visits, and coordinating with other agencies to provide essential services.

Qualifications

60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university with psychology, social work, child development, human development, sociology, social welfare, gerontology or related field.
Two years of full-time social casework or case management experience in a public or non-profit social services, health, or human services agency.
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License; out-of-state license accepted during the application process.

Responsibilities

Completing needs assessments within necessary time limits.
Identifying barriers and referring resources to promote health, wellness and safety.
Managing a caseload and addressing changes and needs of recipients.
Conducting home visits.
Accurate completion of mandatory forms and notices.
Reading, interpreting, and applying rules and regulations.
Performing liaison work to assist clients with resolutions and supporting services.
