Job summary

The Town of Ashland seeks a qualified Social Worker to serve as the primary liaison for town-wide human services policies. You will provide case management, crisis intervention, and resource referrals to Ashland residents, coordinating with local agencies and departments.

Responsibilities include maintaining protocols, conducting home visits, assisting with Medicaid/food stamps applications, and supporting the Ashland Emergency Fund and Food Pantry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social work or related human services field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years of social services experience.
• State Certification as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and revise protocols and procedures for the human services division.
• Provide comprehensive case management and assess client needs for physical/mental health and services.
• Conduct in-home visits, office meetings and referrals for services.
• Assist residents to apply for services like food stamps, fuel assistance, Medicaid.
• Build partnerships with human services agencies and coordinate referrals.
• Serve as liaison for Ashland’s Hoarding Task Force and other task forces.
• Provide information and education through the Town website, social media, and written reports.
• Supervise the Case Manager and Clinical Intern.
• Support Food Pantry needs and related outreach.
