UK King's Daughters in Ashland, KY seeks a licensed social worker to support patients and families through illness, recovery, and discharge planning. The role emphasizes psychosocial assessments and collaborative care planning.
You will work with the interdisciplinary team, facilitate crisis intervention and counseling, and advocate for patient rights while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsible for assisting patients and families with issues related to illness, recovery, and rehabilitation. Develops individualized psychosocial and discharge planning assessments to analyze social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting patient care. Provides medically related social services to support patients’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Guides staff in advocacy, protection, and promotion of patient rights. Performs psychosocial assessments and delivers individual, group, and family therapy in accordance with professional standards and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, or a related field. Master’s degree in social work is preferred.
0-2 years of experience in social work, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license
This position requires intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and intermittent standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds. It also occasionally requires lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds, standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds, and some exposure to risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.
