Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the Adoption & Special Guardianship Support Team. You will assess adoptive and special guardianship families and develop and implement support plans, and run groups for carers and young people.

This 12-month fixed-term or secondment role is based in Huntingdon and involves countywide travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, with a supportive learning environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to travel countywide and out of county.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessment of adoptive and special guardianship families and develop and implement support plans.

We are looking for a Social Worker to join the Adoption & SpecialGuardianshipSupport Team that is part of the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) that support adoptive & special guardianship families in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. You will be joining a supportive team who have a wealth of therapeutic knowledge and skills.

This is a 12 month fixed term role or secondment based in Huntingdon, but you will be working across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, as well as with our neighbouring local authorities.

Please note if you are applying for this role as a secondment you must speak to your line manager before applying, to confirm that you can be released from your substantive post.

What will you be doing?

You will be completing assessment of adoptive & specialguardianshipfamilies and developing and implementing support plans. You will also be involved in running support groups for carers and young people as well as offering support and advice as part of a duty role.

The team is committed to continuous learning and share our learning and resources across the team, including supporting Student Social Workers in their work-based placement. This is something you will participate with and contribute to.

About you

We're looking for confident and dynamic individuals who enjoy making a difference in their local community, are curious and spot things that others might not see, enjoy building relationships and likes to explore possibilities.

You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide, and out of county, independently
