What you’ll do at OhioMHAS:

We are hiring for a Social Worker 1 position within the social work department at Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare. This is a part-time temporary position (ETA) to start, with potential for extension or permanence.

Under general supervision, a Social Worker 1 develops and implements treatment plans for patient care through discharge as part of a team.

The Job Opportunity and Duties:

What you will do:

  • Coordinate assessment, evaluation, and social service needs for patients and their individual treatment plans throughout their care cycle.
  • Perform case management and crisis intervention.
  • Develop client treatment plans and ensure compliance with standards, policies, regulations, and institutional rules.
  • Monitor clients’ progress; maintain clinical case records, documentation, and case files.
  • Refer clients to community programs and resources.
  • Participate in treatment team activities, including planning meetings and case discussions, providing services according to therapeutic community principles.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements for Joint Commission, OMHAS, and COBH.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and conferences as required.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services.
  • Plan and implement continuity of care from hospital to community through collaboration.

This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of #10 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday - Friday, mostly daytime with occasional evening shifts. The position is located at Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare at 2200 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223.

Unless union contract or Ohio Revised Code specify otherwise, the selected candidate will start at Step 1 of the pay range, with potential for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and annual raises thereafter.

Requires current license as a social worker (i.e., LSW) issued by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board, in accordance with ORC 4757.28. Pursuant to ORC 4757.41 (A)(5), individuals with at least two years of service as of July 10, 2014, may be exempt from the current licensure requirement.
