The Inpatient Mental Health Social Worker works closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, psychologists, internal medicine providers, clinical therapy staff, mental health coordinators, pharmacy, and other team members as needed.

In this role, the social worker completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, assists with civil commitment and court related processes, coordinates with outpatient providers, community supports, patients and families, and develops individualized discharge plans to support a successful transition back into the community.

The Mental Health Social Work team is known for its strong culture of collaboration, clinical support, and teamwork. New staff receive comprehensive onboarding tailored to their learning needs, mentorship, and ongoing support to build confidence in the role and develop expertise in inpatient mental health social work.
