Job summary

Stevens County is seeking a social services professional to provide case management and intake services for children, adults, and families. Remote work is possible after one year with approved application, with a waiver based on experience in DD and MN Choice areas.

You will communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and collaborate to develop effective plans for clients in need of social services and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or related field, or a BA with one year of social work experience.
• Merit System eligibility required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Word processing and spreadsheet competency required.
• Willingness to learn additional software as needed.

Job description

Under direction provides professional social services to a variety of children, adult and family clients. Provide ongoing case management services in the areas of Developmental Disabilities and MN Choices. Perform intake responsibilities on a rotating basis. Required to participate in an informal on-call system.

Remote work possible after one year of service and an approved application. Service requirement may be waived depending on years of experience in DD and MN Choice areas.

Ability to communicate with the public, vulnerable adults, disabled children, other county employees, law enforcement and school personnel, medical and mental health professionals, attorneys, court and various other service providers. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze complex situations and implement appropriate responses. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.

CREDENTIALS:
