Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a seasoned Social Work supervisor to oversee operations, drive performance improvements, and lead a team of social workers providing patient-centered care.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work, a licensed LICSW, and at least three years of clinical experience with a focus on medical social work. Strong leadership and collaboration across disciplines are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work.
• Current unrestricted LICSW license from Massachusetts.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work, preferably with Medical Social Work.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations in the Social Work department; manages caseload distribution and staff scheduling.
• Leads performance improvement initiatives and onboarding; partners with universities for MSW field placements.
• Ensures compliance with policies, accreditation, regulatory standards and quality of care across programs.
• Develops and maintains educational programs, onboarding processes, and annual credentialing requirements such as FIT testing and licenses.
• Performs clinical care, including patient evaluation, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
