Job summary

The State of South Dakota, Department of Social Services / Human Services Center in Yankton, SD, offers a spring internship for a Social Work Inter (BSW). Qualifications

Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student in upcoming semester.
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
Preference may be given to junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
A background investigation is required. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.

Responsibilities

Provide supervised social work experience at the South Dakota Human Services Center.
Work with adolescents and adults with severe mental illness or substance use disorder within a delivery system.
Gain structured, formal experience in the human services field.

Completed one year in program by start date
