The Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WSBVI) seeks a Social Studies Teacher to educate middle and high school students who are blind or have low vision. This 0.88 FTE, full-year position works with a TVI and a special education teacher to meet state standards in Social Studies.

The role is on-site at WSBVI in Janesville, with typical hours 7:30am–4:00pm, and a salary range of $30.00–$35.76 per hour ($54,912–$65,455 annually, prorated).

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Social Studies (2700) with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
• Experience teaching Social Studies to middle and high school students is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide Social Studies instruction to middle and high school students who are blind or have low vision, in collaboration with a TVI and a special education teacher.
• Assess student skills, prepare objectives, and complete progress reports.
• Engage students with innovative techniques and modified activities to meet state standards.
