Job description

South Portland High School is looking for a LTS High School Social Studies teacher who is passionate about teaching and history. Qualified candidates must:

-Collaborate with colleagues and form positive relationships with other staff members
-Be able to plan, implement and assess course learning targets
-Possess a passion for history and teaching social studies to students
-Have the ability to differentiate instruction to a diverse population of students to assist all students in mastering the subject matter.
-Establish an equitable learning environment where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to express themselves.
-Have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

State of Maine Social Studies 200 (6-12) certificate is recommended; degree in social studies education required.
