Job summary

Texans Can Academies seeks a dedicated teacher to deliver engaging lessons and support student growth. You will develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum, reflect accommodations for varied learners, and present material using Texans Can methodologies.

You will conduct regular assessments, maintain up-to-date gradebooks, and collaborate with special education staff to adapt curricula per IEPs, ensuring inclusive education and strong student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 24 hours in science, physics or related fields.
• Texas teaching certificate is preferred but not required.

Major Responsibilities And Duties

Instructional Strategies

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for different learners.
• Present subject matter according to the requirements of Texans Can's methodologies.
• Conduct student assessments regularly and maintain an up-to-date student gradebook.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Learn the requirements of the need for an Individual Education Plan in order to successfully deliver the instructional material to the special education students.
• Work with other members of staff to establish instructional goals and objectives.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
• Learn to use technology effectively when working with students.
• Participate in all instructional activities.

• Any and all requirements necessary to fulfill the role of a teacher.
