PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To develop and implement sales activities of the hotel in accordance with the Marketing Plan and assigned market segments; maintains information flow to other departments regarding the sales function to maximize customer satisfaction and overall profitability of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES
- Develops and implements sales activities within the social, entertainment and sports market segment to achieve budgeted goals.
- Assures individual booking revenue goals are achieved on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Completes the assigned minimum sales calls per week with existing and prospective clients, including outside, telemarketing, in-house site inspections, and client entertainment.
- Solicits, evaluates, sells, and confirms business as required to meet assigned market segment’s budgeted sales and profit margin.
- Responds to assigned sales leads/requests in a timely manner.
- Accurately completes data input in Amadeus on a timely basis to ensure activities are recorded.
- Presents and prepares proposals to hotel standards to achieve maximum profit while satisfying client needs.
- Contacts customers in-house to promote good will and foster additional business, repeat bookings, or referrals to other Langham properties. Entertains clients to build relationships. Schedule and host client and travel agency presentations to build existing and potential customers.
- Participates in solving problems with other departments as required relative to business booked in the hotel such as salvaging of accounts which threaten cancellation and effectively compromise between customer needs and hotel facilities.
- Conducts and/or attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Represent hotel at local and national industry related trade shows/events as specified by the hotel or corporate team.
- Participate in business review meetings, special events, sales blitzes, sales meetings and other ad hoc meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned such as assisting with client requests on reservations/VIP alerts, etc.
- Maintain appropriate sales activity in assigned market to achieve revenue results.
- Establish, enhance and maintain productive sales relationships with new and existing internal and external customers.
- Maintain a solid understanding of competitive hotels in marketplace.
- Conduct site inspections throughout property creating a memorable experience for clients.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure flawless execution of group stays and participate in solving problems with other departments as they arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard, computer/software applications.
- Based on assigned sales territory, business travel may be required.
- Lifting 30 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Knowledgeable on sports team performance, league structures, fan behavior, and seasonal trends.
- Sets high personal performance standards with strong performance record and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE /LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES / REQUIRED
- 1-2 years of experience in hotel sales (luxury market preferred) and in the Entertainment and Sports market segment preferred.
- Experience with Delphi, TAG, Tour Connection, Shiji, IDeaS, CVENT and other RFP platforms
