Job summary

Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking a Social Services Director to lead the Social Services department, oversee budgets, staffing, and compliance, and coordinate with medical and nursing teams to meet residents' social and emotional needs.

The role requires a BSW and current Maine LSW licensure, with at least two years of supervisory experience in a related healthcare setting. Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education & Licensure: Degree in Social Work (BSW) and a current Licensed Social Worker (LSW) within the State of Maine.
• Experience: At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Social Services & Resident Care: Develop and implement policies for social/emotional care; coordinate with administration, medical, and nursing staff; oversee discharge planning and community resources.
• Department Leadership & Administration: Manage staff, budget, onboarding, coaching, and compliance with laws.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Education: Lead education programs and collaborate with consultants and committees.
• Compliance & Safety: Oversee reporting, confidentiality, and safeguarding residents’ rights.
