Job summary

American Senior Communities seeks a dedicated Social Services Director for Harcourt Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation in Indianapolis, IN. You will lead medically related social services to support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being.

In this leadership role you’ll coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, ensure high‑quality care, and promote the CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Relationships and Excellence across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field required.
• Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
• Previous social services experience preferred.
• Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to residents, family members, customers and staff.

Description

Social Services Director

The Social Services Director plays a key role in delivering medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being.

Skills Needed:

• Clinical and Human Services knowledge: Understanding social work principles, psychosocial assessments and interventions. Familiarity with case management, discharge planning and crisis intervention.


• Interpersonal Communication: Empathetic engagement with residents and families. Clear, effective communication with interdisciplinary teams. Conflict resolution and mediation skills.


• Supportive Presence: Creating a comforting and engaging atmosphere for our residents.


• Collaboration: Works with and promotes collaboration among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations including government regulatory agencies.


• Teamwork: The ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for our residents.

Requirements:
