Job summary

Majestic Care of South Bend is seeking a Social Service Director to lead the Social Service department and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

You will supervise staff, develop goals, coordinate with families, and participate in resident assessments and care planning. The role also involves program development and collaboration with regulators to support residents and families through transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
• State certification as required by the employer.
• At least one year of social work experience in long-term care.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the social services department.
• Develop goals and motivate staff to achieve them.
• Ensure effective orientation and ongoing education for new staff.
• Build positive relations with regulatory agencies, residents, and families.
• Assist in budgeting for the department and administer approved budget.
• Coordinate resident visits with outside services.
• Lead discharge planning with residents and families.
• Conduct staff education on psychosocial issues and patient rights.
