Job summary

Caring Professionals is seeking a Director of Social Services to oversee medically related social services for residents and families, in coordination with the Administrator. The role involves working with medical staff, social service agencies, and third-party payors to meet psychosocial needs and support daily functioning.

The director should have knowledge of policies concerning benefits, state and federal regulations, and should engage in professional organizations and continuing education

Job description

The Director of Social Services is responsible to the Administrator. The director shall provide medically related social services to meet the needs of the residents and their families, in order to assist with maintaining or improving the residents’ ability to manage their everyday physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. This will involve working cooperatively with other personnel, the medical staff, social service agencies/organizations and third-party payors.

A current working knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures concerning the various benefits and forms of assistance; along with requirements and regulations of state and federal agencies. The director must possess a general knowledge of communication skills and family dynamics. The director is expected to participate in professional organizations and continuing education related to the position.
