Job summary

Mindset Care, Inc. seeks a senior disability attorney to lead SSD/SSDI cases from intake through appeals. You will consult with clients, gather evidence, and file accurate applications while advocating before administrative law judges.

The role requires extensive SSD/SSDI experience and a deep understanding of SSA regulations and medical records. Ideal candidates possess 4+ years in disability law, excellent research and writing skills, and a passionate commitment to protecting clients' rights

Qualifications

  • Bar admission in at least one state.
  • Extensive SSD/SSDI law experience required.
  • 4+ years of disability law practice with proven record.
  • Strong litigation, evidence presentation and hearing skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to evaluate SSI/SSDI eligibility and case details.
  • Assist clients in completing SSI/SSDI applications accurately.
  • Represent clients in appeals hearings before administrative law judges.
  • Gather medical records, employment history, and other supporting documents.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on SSA regulations and case law.

Overall, a senior disability hearing attorney should possess a comprehensive blend of legal expertise, practical experience, interpersonal skills, and personal qualities to effectively represent clients and navigate the complexities of Social Security Disability law.

Job Responsibilities
  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to assess their eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits and discuss their case details.
  • Application Assistance: Assisting clients in completing SSI/SSDI applications accurately and thoroughly to maximize their chances of approval.
  • Appeals Representation: Representing clients in appeals hearings before administrative law judges.
  • Evidence Gathering: Collecting medical records, employment history, and other relevant documents to support clients' SSI/SSDI claims.
  • Legal Research: Staying updated on SSA regulations and case law to effectively advocate for clients' rights and benefits.
  • Communication: Acting as a liaison between clients and government agencies, communicating on behalf of clients to ensure their rights are protected.
  • Advocacy: Advocating for clients with disabilities or other challenges to ensure they receive the disability benefits they are entitled to under the law.
Job Qualifications
  • Admission to the Bar: The attorney should be licensed to practice law in at least one state, ensuring they are authorized to represent clients in disability hearings before administrative law judges. Documentation of SSA authorization to represent disability claimants is required.
  • Specialization in Social Security Disability Law: Extensive experience and specialization in Social Security Disability law are desired. The attorney should have an understanding of SSA regulations, policies, and procedures governing disability claims and appeals.
  • Years of Experience: The attorney should have 4+ years of experience practicing in the field, with a proven track record of success in representing clients at disability hearings and appeals. Attorneys with less experience or professionals with relevant experience prior to licensure will also be considered.
  • Litigation Skills: Strong litigation skills are paramount, including the ability to prepare and present persuasive legal arguments, examine witnesses, and present evidence effectively during hearings.
  • Expertise in Medical Evidence: Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical records and diagnostic tests are crucial for assessing the severity of clients' impairments and building compelling disability cases.
  • Strong Legal Research and Writing Skills: Proficiency in legal research and writing is essential for drafting legal briefs, motions, and other documents required for disability claims and appeals.
  • Client Advocacy: The attorney should be a passionate advocate for their clients, committed to protecting their rights and ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is necessary for reviewing case files, analyzing medical evidence, and preparing thorough and accurate documentation for disability hearings.
  • Empathy and Compassion: The attorney should possess empathy and compassion for clients who are experiencing physical or mental health challenges, demonstrating sensitivity to their needs and concerns.
