Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
• Master's degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Experience managing business/department functions and staff.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
• Ability to work under deadlines with multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Plan study programs meeting students' needs, interests, backgrounds, and abilities.
• Assist in establishing department objectives and develop plans for implementation and evaluation.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and communicate objectives clearly.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and set objectives for lessons and projects.
• Use appropriate teaching methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Maintain records and reports as required by policy and law.
• Adhere to ethics and participate in school improvement initiatives.
• Identify student distress or abuse and act according to procedures.
